⚠ STR Restricted — Township Permit and HOA Rules

Short-term rentals are permitted at High Country Estates, but two approvals are involved. Tunkhannock Township runs an active licensing programme requiring a permit and a safety inspection. The community's homeowners association also governs rental use, and its current rules are not published — a cap, waiting period, grandfathering provision or owner-approval requirement may apply. Homes in the community have operated as short-term rentals, but that does not establish that a new purchaser automatically qualifies. Buyers planning rental use should obtain the current resale certificate and HOA rules in writing, and confirm township requirements, before purchasing. Some residents have been working to restrict short-term rentals in the community.
