Short-term rental is prohibited. The community's own governance page says it plainly: Lake of the Pines is residential-use only, and its restrictive covenants bar businesses of any kind, short-term rental included.
Middle Smithfield Township permits licensed short-term rental generally, and separately records Lake of the Pines as a community where it is not allowed. Township and community agree.
