MONROE COUNTY · POLK TOWNSHIP · KUNKLETOWN
Pleasant View Lake is a small private community in Polk Township, Monroe County, with a Kunkletown mailing address. The property owners association reports 119 homes across about 80 acres, and the community dates to 1974. Its size gives it more of a neighborhood feel than the large vacation-home developments elsewhere in the Poconos.
A resident board manages the association, looking after common areas, shared infrastructure and the community water system, and organizing social events. Governing documents cover membership, dues, water charges, building and construction, renting and parking, so association administration is a real part of ownership here.
The setting is quiet and wooded, with access to the western Monroe and eastern Carbon County recreation corridor while staying away from the busier resort centers.
✗ STR Not Permitted — POA Rules
Short-term rentals are not permitted at Pleasant View Lake. The association's published rules state plainly that short-term rentals, including Airbnb-style stays, are not allowed anywhere in the community. Longer rentals must be registered with the association, and the owner remains responsible for the tenant. Polk Township adds a further restriction: since August 2024 it has prohibited short-term rentals in all R-1 zoning. Buyers should confirm the current association rules before purchasing.
