Community Setting

Split Rock is an established residential area surrounding the separately operated Split Rock Resort in Lake Harmony, Kidder Township, Carbon County, minutes from the Big Boulder and Jack Frost ski areas. Homes range from traditional Pocono cottages to detached houses, with a separate townhome association along Moseywood Road.

There is no single homeowners association covering the whole community. Owners may join the Split Rock Cottage Owners Association, a voluntary organisation. Individual properties may carry deed restrictions, road-maintenance obligations or separate association rules, so buyers should review the recorded deed for any specific property.

Nearby Resort Facilities

Availability and membership privileges are subject to resort policies and current operating conditions.

As of October 2026 the resort's Town Center, including its guest rooms and the indoor water park, is temporarily closed for an extensive renovation of its mechanical, electrical and plumbing infrastructure. • Fitness center
  • Sports complex
  • Outdoor sports complex

The golf course is separately owned. Confirm current availability and access terms with the resort directly.

Short-Term Rentals

✓ STR Allowed - Kidder Township Permit and Inspection Required

Kidder Township Ordinance No. 187, Chapter 143 permits short-term rentals of 30 days or less with a township permit and inspection. Requirements include a permit for each dwelling unit, occupancy of two people per bedroom plus four, on-property parking, posted occupancy and emergency contact information, and a local contact where the owner lives more than an hour away.

The township ordinance does not override zoning or private covenants. Rental eligibility for a specific property depends on its zoning classification and any recorded restrictions, and should be confirmed before purchase.

STR eligibility, HOA fees, and community rules change frequently. Always verify current status directly with the HOA and relevant township before purchase. Information on this page is provided for general reference only and does not constitute legal or financial advice.
