Briar Hill is a group of three neighboring lake communities on the north shore of Lake Wallenpaupack in Paupack Township, Wayne County, near Lakeville. Briar Hill North, Briar Hill Summit and Briar Hill South are separate developments that connect to one another, and all three are built around access to Lake Wallenpaupack rather than pools or clubhouses.
Briar Hill North and Briar Hill Summit are managed together by the Briar Hill North Association, which maintains the private roads and shared lake facilities. Briar Hill South is managed separately by the Briar Hill South Association.

All three Briar Hill communities allow short-term rentals at the association level. Paupack Township regulates short-term rentals under an ordinance adopted in 2023 and amended in 2024, and a new short-term rental needs township approval before it can operate. Depending on the property, that can include a Conditional Use approval under the township zoning ordinance, which involves a public hearing. Approval is not automatic, so each property must qualify on its own. Buyers should confirm the requirements for the specific property with Paupack Township and the relevant association before purchasing.
