Area Overview

Lake Harmony, located in Kidder Township, Carbon County, is one of the Pocono Mountains' established four-season resort destinations. The area is centered around two distinct lakes — Lake Harmony and Big Boulder Lake — and offers a diverse collection of residential communities, including lakefront condominiums, mountain townhomes, traditional Pocono cottages, wooded single-family homes, and golf-course properties.

Lake Harmony is a natural glacial lake known for boating, fishing, swimming, and lakeside recreation. Unlike Big Boulder Lake, Lake Harmony permits motorized boating and watersports under established rules and permit requirements. The lake is privately owned, with access governed by individual property rights, association arrangements, and authorized recreational facilities. Communities such as Lake Harmony Estates and Split Rock are closely associated with the lake and its surrounding resort setting.

Big Boulder Lake encompasses approximately 175 acres and offers a different recreational experience, with gas-powered motorboats prohibited. Kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, fishing, and designated swimming facilities contribute to its quieter lake atmosphere. Boulder Lake Village, Laurelwoods at Big Boulder, Villages of Blue Heron, and Midlake on Big Boulder surround the lake, with eligible homeowners able to obtain optional membership in the privately operated Boulder Lake Club.

The area's four-season appeal extends well beyond its lakes. Big Boulder Mountain and Jack Frost Mountain are two of the region's established ski resorts, providing skiing, snowboarding, and winter recreation. Big Boulder is located near Big Boulder Lake, while Jack Frost is a short drive away. Together with the area's restaurants, golf courses, hiking opportunities, and resort attractions, the two mountains help make Lake Harmony a year-round destination for homeowners and visitors.

Big Boulder & Jack Frost — Skiing & Winter Recreation

Big Boulder Mountain and Jack Frost Mountain are two of the Pocono Mountains' established ski resorts, offering convenient access to skiing, snowboarding, and winter recreation for homeowners and visitors in the Lake Harmony area. Operated together as Jack Frost Big Boulder, the two mountains provide complementary experiences for beginners, families, and more experienced skiers and snowboarders.

Its location makes it particularly convenient for residents of nearby communities such as Laurelwoods, Boulder Lake Village, Villages of Blue Heron, Midlake, and Harmony Ridge.

Jack Frost Mountain, located a short drive away near White Haven, offers a traditional mountain skiing experience with a variety of trails for different ability levels. Snow Ridge Village is situated near the mountain, providing convenient access to winter recreation.
