PIKE COUNTY · DINGMAN TOWNSHIP · MILFORD
Sunrise Lake is one of the larger private communities in Pike County, in Dingman Township between Dingmans Ferry and Milford. The property owners association reports more than 1,200 homes and lots along roughly 27 miles of community roads, with three lakes, a seasonal pool and outdoor recreation areas.
The setting is a large part of the appeal: the community is surrounded by about 25,000 acres of state and federal forest, with hiking, fishing, swimming and hunting close at hand, and the Delaware River and Dingmans Ferry Bridge nearby. Historic Milford, with its restaurants, shops and galleries, is roughly twenty minutes away.
Housing ranges from modest Pocono cabins to larger contemporary homes, and the association handles road maintenance, snow removal and the common areas. Its size, setting and established facilities make it one of the better-known residential communities in eastern Pike County.
✗ STR Not Permitted — Township Zoning
Short-term rentals are not permitted at Sunrise Lake. Dingman Township allows transient residential use only in its CP, RC and NC zoning districts, with a permit, and not in the R-1, RU, ND-2 and FP districts.
