PIKE & WAYNE COUNTIES · LACKAWAXEN & PALMYRA TOWNSHIPS · HAWLEY
Woodledge Village is a private lake community near Hawley that crosses both a county and a township line: part of it lies in Lackawaxen Township, Pike County, and part in Palmyra Township, Wayne County. It sits off Route 590, close to Hawley's services and less than ten miles from Lake Wallenpaupack, while keeping its own lake and association.
The community is built around a 53-acre fishing lake with a small marina, along with a seasonal pool, a baby pool, tennis courts and a clubhouse that serves as the social and association space. The lake and marina give it a stronger water focus than most small private-road developments, though the overall package stays residential rather than resort-scale.
Housing includes traditional Pocono vacation homes and year-round residences, and the association maintains formal rules, building procedures and registration programs.
✓ STR Allowed — Community & Township Permit Required
Short-term rentals are allowed at Woodledge Village, with approval on two levels. The association issues an annual short-term rental permit and requires a tenant application, and its rules define a short-term rental as a stay of under 30 days. Properties on the Palmyra Township, Wayne County side must also register with the township under its short-term rental ordinance, and properties on the Lackawaxen Township, Pike County side must meet that municipality's requirements. Community approval does not replace municipal compliance. Buyers should confirm which side of the county line a property is on, and the current association and township requirements, before purchasing.
